That's the real-world effect of Michigan's latest “Save Women's Sports” bill — a piece of legislation that sounds wholesome and all-American, until you stop and ask one uncomfortable, unavoidable question:

Who is verifying that these girls are “girl enough”?

When state Rep. Jason Woolford (R) was asked, “How does a 14-year-old girl prove whether or not she's trans to a 50-year-old coach?” his colleague Rep. BeGole quickly shut it down, snapping, “I don't think that's an appropriate question to be asking here today.”

Gee. No kidding.

But it's exactly the question we should be asking.

Because if you're pushing laws that exclude kids from sports based on gender identity, you better have a plan for how you're going to enforce it. And spoiler alert: that plan sounds a hell of a lot like grown adults questioning, inspecting, and possibly examining the bodies of minors.

This isn't just political overreach. It's not just bad policy. It's creepy. It's perverse. And if it were coming from any group other than lawmakers pretending to protect our daughters, we'd be calling for law enforcement to investigate the danger.

For years, these same folks screamed bloody murder about bathroom bills — claiming we needed to protect our kids from predators in locker rooms. Now, they're the ones kicking down the locker room door with a clipboard and a chart asking:

“Drop your pants and prove you belong.”

Is this really what we've become? A country where girls in gym class are treated like suspects until proven cis?

This isn't about sports. This is about control. It's about power. It's about grown men in suits pretending to protect little girls by writing laws that force them to prove their femininity to authority figures.
